The Genio 30 Precision and Precision Pro series is the latest generation of state-of-the-art 30kg high production roasters from Genio Roasters. The Thermal Management System (TMS) gives the operator complete control over convection and conduction heating optimisation. TMS adds a new dimension to roast profiling: heat transfer profiling. By dynamically adjusting the position of the burner relative to the drum, the roasting fan rpm and the drum rpm, operators are able to adjust the amount of convection or conduction heat that is being applied to the beans. The operator has full control over the system’s setup, allowing them to adjust parameters of the TMS system or even disable the whole feature or any section thereof should they wish to do so at any time.
A seamless dual-wall 10mm mild steel (carbon steel) roasting drum takes care of agitating the beans while transferring the optimal amount of energy to the beans. As mild steel is a good heat conductor with fair heat retention, the outside of the drum is coated in a high performance ceramic typically found in race car engines. The ceramic distributes the heat evenly over the surface but also adds some heat retention ability to the heat transfer profile. The dual-wall breathes in fresh hot air and allows the air to circulate over the entire surface area. A Genio’s drum will always give you even roasting, optimal convection heating and zero hot-spots or scorching.
The control panel is attached to the roaster on a pivoting and adjustable control arm. It can be placed either side of the machine and communicates with the roaster via Ethernet. The control panel houses the quad core computer with USB and Micro-SD card expansion slots. See your roasts develop in real-time including RoR, Bean and Environment Thermocouples, Gas and TMS settings and roast times on the 9″ touch screen interface. You get a lifetime of free software updates and can load saved profiles as reference curves and even do full profile controlled roasts from previously recorder batches. Genio’s own comprehensive ProRoast system comes included for free, or you can use any third-party application to log your roasts.
Genio Roasters’ ground breaking control system automates the logistics around roasting while leaving the roast master free to apply his unique skill onto the roasting coffee without interference. Three buttons, ‘Prime’ ‘Roast’ and ‘Cool’ to govern all roasting functions: automatically enable motors, adjust them to the correct speeds and change airflow inside the machine to various positions without user intervention. The logistics around roasting is managed by the electronics, which frees up the roast master to concentrate solely on the roast parameters: temperature profile (changing the gas pressure) and heat transfer profile (changing the TMS settings).
